Paws Kisses and Wags

I always wanted pets! It was my dream come true when I got my first puppy in April of 2016. I remember the first night I saw him, he was so tiny (28 DAYS old). His eyes were filled with wonder looking at that huge bag of kibbles. We didn’t know how much to feed him, so he leapt into that bag himself, gutsy little fellow and fell face flat, yet managed to gobble up food. Then he cried all night like a human baby!

What followed were days of learning! We both learned each other and continue to do (always in wonder!). I enjoyed his little dance when he knew food was in the making. Ah! when he first fell ill, I think my heart sunk 10000 feet below.

There is so much effort taken by pet parent to keep their pets healthy, feed them, play with them & teach them which cannot be justified by phrases like “but he is just a dog”. Those cute pet pictures & videos that are going viral have tonnes of time & effort invested into it.

The second pup came along and he was feisty! He came because Tuffee was all alone when his human had to work. It was eye opening to see different personalities in animals. I think in many ways they make us better human beings because we learn to care for those that are not ours, to be a voice for the voiceless, more importantly, we learn to be patient, to not be angry, to think differently.

I remember when there were differences at home, we would all forget it when it comes to taking care of the puppies. There were also times I felt I couldn’t give them a life that they wanted, keeping them in a closed space or not being there for them (I WANT A FOREST FOR MY DOGS TO PLAY IN!). Those were the times I felt I would never want to own another dog or cat. If they were free, they would probably be running around, not afraid of any rules, hunting for their own food.

For those who hate the idea of animals, hey, city life is great. But God gave animals to human beings so we remember what is love, forgiveness, service etc. In a world with rising industrial cities, more of transactions, before we all turn in to emotionless robots, there is so much the warmth of wet nose, their excitement and love can do.

PAWSOME forever!
